Isolda Peguero is a well-known Journalist with 30 years of experience in the Hispanic market, 25 of those as a National Correspondent of the New York Bureau for the Telemundo Network. She is a three-time Emmy winner and her experience in print, radio and television makes her one of the most complete, documented and versatile communicators in the New York market.
As a reporter she has covered numerous stories of importance and of relevance that have made an impact in the world. Among them: the terrorist attack to the WTC, Conclaves, Hurricanes, Presidential Elections, as well as tragedies and human-interest stories. In 1982, shortly after graduating from the Institute of Journalism in her native Dominican Republic, Isolda Peguero migrated to the United States to join her family and pursue a career in communications. Peguero’s career in journalism took off in 1987 when, while working for an advertising agency, she was offered a position as a general assignment reporter with the New York City based newspaper “Noticias del Mundo.” Shortly after being hired, she was promoted to Chief of the City Hall Bureau. Two years later she embarks on a new challenge and accepted a position as Director of Public Affairs for WKDM-1380AM radio station. Her responsibilities included producing and hosting three weekly talk shows. Peguero was also in charge of writing and scheduling the Public Service Announcements for the station, as well as attending and speaking at public events. After two successful years in WKDM, she joined the newscast of “Noticiero 47,” Telemundo’s local station inNew York. While at “Noticiero 47,” she covered general news, special assignments and various human-interest stories. Peguero also served as substitute anchor. In her current role as the National Correspondent of the New York Bureau of the Telemundo Network, she has produced and presented various special stories for the Network and its affiliates. Peguero is also the recipient of various awards for her work in several series and special programs, including a special Emmy for her coverage of the 911 terrorist attack. She received the Associated Press Award for the special series “Deseo a Ese Niño” and three ACEnominations, including best reporter for several years in a row. In 1990, The Governor of New York recognized Isolda Peguero as an outstanding and influential communicator in the community. For three consecutive years, the Association of Dominican Broadcasters in New York City has honored Isolda with the “El Pico de Oro Award.” She was also named one of “Glamour” magazine’s (Spanish Edition) most Distinguished and Influential Woman of the 90’s. She continues to stay connected to the community by participating in various activities, including public speaking. Her three decades in Television have been an example of dedication, discipline, determination and a talent for communicating in a precise and spontaneous manner that makes her an outstanding journalist that connects with the audience. Isolda is working independently as a host and producer of her digital show El Rincón de Isolda, and as a master of ceremonies. She is eagerly pursuing her passions in the art, by entering her second act via voice- over work and acting.

Con más de treinta años de experiencia, Isolda Peguero es una Periodista probada. Una veterana de los medios de comunicación con una trayectoria que abarca radio, prensa escrita y televisión Su vasta carrera incluye 25 años de trabajo en la televisión Hispana de los Estados Unidos, la cual desarrolló en la cadena Telemundo, primero como reportera de su canal local WNJU-canal 47 y luego como Corresponsal del Noticiero Nacional Telemundo, desde el Buro de Nueva York. Además de varios premios y reconocimientos que incluyen tres Emmys, y una medalla de Honor al Mérito, otorgada por el Gobierno Dominicano, su carrera la han llevado a reportar historias de importancia, relieve e interés mundial; incluyendo cónclaves, elecciones, atentados terroristas, incluyendo el de las Torres Gemelas de Nueva York, Huracanes e historias de interés humano. Isolda emigró a los Estados Unidos, desde su natal República Dominicana en el 1982, poco después de haberse graduado del Instituto Dominicano de Periodismo, con el objetivo de reunirse con su familia e iniciar su carrera Periodística. Su carrera despego en el l987 cuando mientras trabajaba en una agencia publicitaria se le presentó la oportunidad de trabajar como reportera de asignaciones generales en el Periódico Noticias del Mundo, donde poco después fue promovida a Corresponsal del Buro de ese periódico en la Alcaldía de Nueva York. Su portafolio de trabajo incluye su función como Directora de Asuntos Comunales para la estación radial WKDM-1380, donde durante dos años estuvo a cargo la producción y conducción de tres programas semanales, además de la redacción y preparación de los anuncios de servicio público y representar a la estación en eventos públicos. Además de la televisión, la radio es una de sus grandes pasiones. Durante un tiempo combinó su trabajo en Televisión con Corresponsalías para Radio Única para un programa que conducía el Periodista Pedro Sevcec. También colaboró en repetidas ocasiones para Radio Wado. Tras décadas de carrera su proyecto más reciente es El Rincón de Isolda, un segmento ameno, informativo y entretenido, que en formato de entrevista en su canal de YouTube. Su espontaneidad, carisma, transparencia y credibilidad han hecho a esta Periodista Dominicana merecedora del respeto y cariño del público Hispano Parlante dentro y fuera de los Estados Unidos. En el 2016 fue nominada a Los Premios Soberano como Comunicadora Destacada en el exterior. Premios Soberano es el mayor galardón otorgado a los artistas y comunicadores en La República Dominicana. En lo que ella llama, su segundo acto, Isolda esta enfocada en su pasión por el mundo de las artes, trabajando como artista de la voz y proyectos de actuación.
